“Invest in the society you want to belong to,” I wrote a few months ago. I was making a general recommendation that everyone subscribe to local news.

I acknowledged: “More than half of U.S. counties today have no local news, or hardly any. You can’t subscribe to it because it isn’t there.”

So, a few people asked me, to which news sources should we subscribe?
