You did use those words, without quotation marks, in your penultimate comment. You put them in the form of a rhetorical question. If you meant to play devil's advocate, i.e. you were posing a rhetorical question that might be asked by someone who holds the opposite position that you yourself actually hold, that wasn't made clear.
