Regarding non-acceptance of trans people and whether to describe it as "transphobia": For me, this is an example of the gulf between intent and effect. Someone's non-acceptance of me can have an impact on my life — less so if we're only strangers passing in the street, but more so if it's a close friend or my boss. That person's intent (including their emotions, their awareness of their own emotions, etc.) may not make a difference to me. If the word "transphobia" only properly describes a person's intent, then I need a different word to describe the effect of their words and actions on my life. If you know of one, I'd be interested to hear it!
