Yeah, it's a circular argument— We perceive "cis" as representing wrong ideas, so we don't use that word, and because we don't use it, it's clearly unnecessary and doesn't describe reality. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

By the way, thank you for being an early reader of this long piece. Usually with my articles, I allow "the perfect to be the enemy of the good" and fuss with the drafts so they're pretty clean of typos by the time I hit publish, but because this new-release documentary was in the news, I rushed to publish it a little after midnight "as-is" and decided I'd fix the typos in the morning. This morning when I was awake I caught a heck of a lot of typos 😭 I also created and added an image of the 16 speakers (at the top) so readers can see the faces and have a guide to who's speaking, in case they want to watch the film and use this summary as a readalong. Anyway, thank you for your patience with and enthusiasm for the early version.
