These ideas are useful to me. I am writing a book (a history) about a 20th-century author who didn’t finish his book. His material was too broad, his approach too diffuse, his expertise lacking. He killed himself. He needed to finish writing some book, but his project was too large and undefined and he didn’t know how to intelligently quit those extraneous parts.
