The Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin was deemed to be blocking efforts to fight corruption, and so the desire for Ukraine to fire Shokin was official U.S. policy. “…both Republicans and Democrats in the US — and many European nations — wanted Shokin gone…” This was done in the open. Biden was given the role of seeing that it was done. That’s why Biden went on TV openly talking about doing it. This is not a mystery, nor is it suspicious. To the extent that he “threatened” or “gloated,” he was simply making statements that were part of his job that he was doing at the time with bipartisan support.

Biden’s son Hunter probably shouldn’t have taken a job in Ukraine given his father’s role as U.S. vice president. It created at least the appearance that Hunter had a conflict of interest, and that appearance should have been avoided. Apart from that, the Bidens did nothing wrong. There is no evidence that they did.
