Some days ago, I commented twice, but per today's email, you're still looking for feedback, and now I have something different to say.

If I correctly understand the Option 1 offer, if an author "opted in," we'd be granting AI access to all our work on Medium, and the 10% boost in earnings would apply to everything earned. (In other words, neither the AI's right to scan the work, nor the earnings boost, would be story-specific.)

From my perspective: Over five years, I've published over 400 stories on Medium, and I've earned an average of $5 per story. No story has ever been written in less than an hour. More commonly, I take 5–10 hours to write a story. I am earning less than a dollar an hour from my best creative work, which is informed by two university degrees, 20 years of work experience in writing and tech, and a sex change. Giving me an extra ten cents an hour—to feed a robot whose explicit goal is to steal my voice and make me obsolete—is not "a raise" in my view.

What would be a raise: Add a zero to my earnings, please. I might accept that offer.
