So true. Today's "GC" transphobia is an ideology that dismisses the importance of personal agency and autonomy. It claims that gender freedom is irrelevant to the meaning and direction of our lives because the complete set of true insights has already been produced by second-wave white feminists 50 years ago, plus some flavor from Christian fundamentalism if you just strip out the overt mentions of God, and thus there's nothing left for anyone else to discover or declare — so everyone may as well shut up and let the handful of professional transphobes do all the parroting of established truth. Transphobia is indeed funded by the right wing. As liberals and left-leaning people wise up to this and depart from transphobic groups, committed transphobes lean ever harder right. I agree with this assessment.
