Pobble, Cobble, Sobble to a Better Future
New words for forming options and working together

Spanish has the verbs
- “posibilitar,” to make something possible
- “compatibilizar,” to make two things compatible with each other
- “solidarizar,” to act in solidarity
English doesn’t have such handy, compact verbs for these activities.
- There’s “enable,” but that’s narrowly task-oriented, and sometimes it’s the opposite of “disable.” It doesn’t really mean envisioning futures and creating the conditions for them to be chosen.
- There’s “synchronize,” “harmonize,” and “pair,” but those don’t quite mean “make compatible.”
- There’s “ally with,” “sympathize,” and “support,” but no verb for “solidarity.”
I like “posibilitar,” “compatibilizar,” and “solidarizar.”
I bet English would do well to introduce “pobble,” “cobble,” and “sobble.”
