Perhaps she does just want attention — many people do.

Generally, I feel challenged to explain "the thing" (e.g., why it's wrong to be anti-trans, what responding or not-responding to anti-trans messages feels like for a trans person, how this situation impacts trans people personally, etc.) while simultaneously avoiding amplifying the thing I'm criticizing. If I don't investigate what certain anti-trans people have said, I won't know the answer when I'm quizzed on it.
