Trump’s latest anti-trans executive order calls us ‘anti-Christian’
“Eradicating Anti-Christian Bias” is the sixth anti-trans executive order of the second Trump administration. (I’ve counted five previously.) It’s a long statement that touches on a lot of topics, including anti-abortion activism. I’m mentioning it briefly here to acknowledge that the Trump administration has labeled trans people’s existence as anti-Christian.
It sets out its purpose: “to protect the religious freedoms of Americans and end the anti-Christian weaponization of government.”
One paragraph blames the Biden administration for holding Christian organizations on college campuses accountable to the same rules everyone else has to follow; for inclusion of trans people; for requiring prospective foster parents to tolerate LGBTQ kids; and for recognizing the annual celebration of trans visibility which last year happened to coincide with Easter Sunday.
