These reports shed light. Have you read them?

The following documents explain what Donald Trump has done in the past and suggest how charges may be brought against him. In descending order of length:
- Finally, you can see Trump’s tax returns, 2015–2020. There are 2,744 pages of individual taxes and 3,140 pages of business taxes. They were publicly released at the end of 2022 after a yearslong pursuit.
- After interviewing 1,000 witnesses and reviewing 1 million documents, in addition to broadcasting multiple public hearings that included video clips of the attack on the Capitol and of witness interviews, the committee wrote a 845-page final report (PDF).
- Dominion Voting Systems submitted a 192-page legal brief (PDF) on January 17, 2022 that was recently released to the public. It contains evidence that Fox News believed that Trump had lost the election but chose to push a false narrative to viewers.
- If you’re short on time, read the Justice Department’s 11-page inventory of what they seized at Mar-a-Lago.
- Then there’s the 9 pages of the report (PDF) of the special purpose grand jury convened in Fulton County, Georgia. The judge allowed the release of this report, except for parts that named individuals who hadn’t testified to the grand jury, as this could violate their “due process” rights if they’re ever charged with crimes.
- Would you like to see the 41,000 hours of Capitol surveillance footage from the day of the insurrection? Sorry! Kevin McCarthy, Speaker of the House of Representatives, released that footage exclusively to a Fox News television host, who will edit it to a length that can be broadcasted, selecting scenes his network wishes to show. Perhaps you’ll see 1/41,000th of it. Representative Jamie Raskin, who served on the House committee that investigated the Capitol attack, asked rhetorically why McCarthy didn’t release it to “all media & public?” Of course, Raskin doesn’t really want McCarthy to do that. Raskin expressed concern that the government surveillance footage could be used as “a roadmap for 2024 insurrection,” implying that it should not have been released to anyone without security clearance to view it, least of all Fox News. So you can’t watch the 41,000 hours of video, but you can read the five reports I mentioned in the list above.
