Individual liberties are often curtailed for the sake of collective risk management. All regulation works this way.
Risk exists even when we don't comprehend it. We might not survive if too many people refuse to participate in risk management plans. We can comprehend a lot of risks, even when they're abstract or based on probabilities, if we try.
If the spread of contagious diseases is called "solidarity," it certainly isn't a form of solidarity that I want to inflict on others or that I want inflicted on me.
