I wrote a novel fictionalizing my own experience. There's a version of this discrimination that can affect post-transition people too: if the bosses don't know you're trans (i.e., that you ever previously lived in another gender), then if there's ever a bad situation in which your transness becomes relevant, you'll have to out yourself just so that you can explain the bad situation. At that point, having worked with them for years without having ever said you're trans, they might decide that you've broken their trust by not disclosing your transness earlier, and furthermore your transness is now (for them) linked with "a situation", so they'll blame you for being trans and say that your transness caused the situation because that seems easier than addressing the actual problem.
