I had no idea about Anthony Perkins's life story. Now I want to learn more about him. I was 12 when he died. I suppose I also saw Psycho for the first time around that age.

I don't recall if I picked up on Psycho's queerness on my first go-round, especially as it's queer in a way that resists categories: not definitively gay, bi, straight, trans, but something that makes you say, Hmm, what's going on here? The characters invoke our current understanding of those categories, but in a way that makes us question what they are. They're never wholly pinned down to those categories. Someone could do a remake like "the bi version of Psycho" or "the trans version of Psycho," but it'd involve a rewrite.
