I agree with the first part ("racism continues to gain new ground because good white people do nothing") but not necessarily the second part (the assumption that Twitter can be fixed, and that leaving Twitter is identical with giving up).
Insofar as Twitter is a virtual space, a lot of the apparent haters are programmed bots. It's AI chatter. They're infuriating and offensive, but they're not real. Others are anonymous humans whose paid job is to cause disruption. Arguing with bots/trolls in a digital environment is little more than playing a very terrible video game while others watch. Ideally, we could report offensive behavior and Twitter would remove it from the platform, but they usually don't, and Musk is signaling he'll do even less. Yesterday I wrote an article on Medium explaining my perspective on this matter.
Anyhow, I wanted to say I’ve followed you here on Medium for a long time and I appreciate your writing. I'm a paying member here, and I hope that when I read your articles, it benefits you financially so you can be paid for your work. It simply never occurred to me to look for you on Twitter too. (My Medium and Twitter bubbles have almost no overlap.) If — for whatever reason or circumstances — someday I leave Twitter, I would still read and support you on Medium. You do matter to me.
I might leave Twitter — who knows, we might all be thrown off if the system implodes, nothing's guaranteed — but for now I'm there, and I followed you on Twitter today. Please let me know if you ever need help and if there’s something specific I can do (or not do) for you, on Twitter or otherwise. I tend to take a “don’t feed the trolls” approach on Twitter, but if there’s a situation where you’d like me to do something specific, let me know.
