I agree that living our truths is an essential part of gaining/keeping the political freedom to continue to live our truths. "Freedom to be/do X" remains abstract if no one is actually being/doing X, and it's the being/doing that clears and claims space for itself. (Administrative paperwork like "sign here to be/do X" may ultimately be N/A.) Living our truths is important...but that on its own won't stop transphobia. Trans people have always lived our truths, and yet transphobia today is really bad. I'm not ready to say that everyone should enjoy whatever freedoms we have and just wait for the pro-discrimination movement to get bored and quiet down. I don't know what the answer is, though.
