She doesn’t have stats on who it may affect, but she doesn’t want us to be trans anywhere

Trump’s executive order | Helen Joyce on TalkTV. January 28, 2025. YouTube.

As I’ve written a lot about the anti-trans movement in the US and UK, I wondered, two weeks into the second Trump administration, what the ideologues been saying about Trump’s crackdown.

I was already aware that Irish anti-trans activist Helen Joyce, for example, despite identifying more or less as “liberal,” was saying back in 2022 that she’s happy to work with the Alliance Defending Freedom toward its goal of ending the social recognition of trans people’s genders. Now that Project 2025 (backed by the ADF, one of its heavy-hitters) is guiding the U.S. government, I thought I’d check up on her reaction.

So I found an 11-minute video of conservative British journalist Julia Hartley-Brewer interviewing Joyce on TalkTV. They discuss the new wave of anti-trans policies and are entirely complimentary toward the Trump administration on this point, as well as on Trump’s elimination of DEI more broadly. For them, this is a celebration. The interview was uploaded to YouTube on January 28, 2025.

We can expect the anti-trans activists to continue cheerleading the Trump administration in its anti-trans goals.
