The Gelflings Are Trans

And trans people are Gelflings

In the beginning, there were Beings. One day, the Crystal cracked, and the beings split. They became the good, gentle Mystics and the evil, twisted Skeksis. The split was not only psychic but physical. If a Skeksi’s hand was pierced, the hand of its Mystic double would also bleed, no matter how far apart the two of them were.

The evil doubles of course seized and wielded ultimate power over all the land, as evil does.

And the land entered a new era.

Happy woodland creatures had dwelled in the forest. They were childlike, longhaired puppet-people with pointy ears, called Gelflings. The Skeksis murdered nearly all of them (as I previously discussed with another unorthodox gender slant).

But there was hope to overcome the disorder: If a surviving Gelfling, channeling the Mystics’ knowledge, could identify the missing crystal shard and return it to the Skeksis’ palace to make the Crystal whole again, perhaps the Beings would no longer be split, and the world would be in proper order once more.
