Israeli Authorities Intensify Famine in Gaza

Back in October, a couple days after I wrote about the intentional famine in Gaza, the Associated Press reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was considering “seal[ing] off humanitarian aid to northern Gaza in an attempt to starve out Hamas militants” by starving everyone who lived there. This was referred to as the “generals’ plan” and was also reported at the time by the BBC.

In November, “experts from a panel that monitors food security said famine is imminent in the north or may already be happening,” as the Associated Press reported. A group of 15 United Nations heads said more bluntly that northern Gaza was suffering “apocalyptic” levels of “disease, famine and violence.”

You may already read these headlines regularly, in which case you do not need to continue here. For those who do not read these headlines, I provide another opportunity to see them.

As reported in May of this year, this was expected to worsen

“Israel’s deliberate policy of starvation continues to tighten its grip on the enclave,” Wesam Abo Marq wrote on May 7 for the Intercept. He had personally endured this in early 2024 in Gaza, losing 16 kilograms (35 pounds)…
