The US Has an Election Result. What Will We Do Now?
The way forward is muddy. A few words I’ve collected from others.
Today, I don’t have original words of wisdom. I’m dwelling with what others have shared.

Today, nonwhite groups are facing growing threats not just from bigots and fascists on the Internet, but from our neighbors and members of our communities as well.
That in itself is the scariest part of all of this.
Legal scholar Dahlia Lithwick, as quoted by Margaret Sullivan:
This campaign was run on the explicit promise to inflict maximal suffering on a lot of disfavored and marginalized people. I trust them to keep that promise. Try to keep your heart soft because that will be the work. Take care of yourself because you will do that work again.
Today feels eerily reminiscent of 2004. Pundits are already attributing Democratic losses to transgender individuals. Some Democrats may conclude, as Obama did in 2004, that they should distance themselves from championing transgender rights. Many who do now wear that decision like an albatross around their necks.
