Do I have this right? The cancer charity explained that it uses the word "cervix" for simplicity and because a person may have that body part regardless of their identity; it acknowledged another term that some trans/nonbinary people prefer, but it said it chooses not to use that term. The transphobes thought the entire statement sounded too weak and apologetic? Not because of the outcome, clearly (as so-called "sex realists" have no problem with the word "cervix")—but because the charity spoke directly to trans people as equals who have feelings and are capable of reason, and it was polite and understanding?
