The U.S. Dept of Homeland Security Says ‘Liberals…Don’t Read History’
To the contrary, we do, and we read the news too
Earlier today, on X, the Department of Homeland Security quoted an anonymous blogger: “Liberals don’t know things. They don’t read history, they don’t obsess over stats, the few data points they do see they forget. Their entire world is driven by the consumption of fiction”.
This use of “liberals” presumably means anyone to the left of Trump. At the moment, it’s Homeland Security’s word, not mine. Specifically, here, it needles California Governor Gavin Newsom, a Democrat who recently started a new podcast where he interviewed far-right figure Charlie Kirk and aligned himself with Kirk’s anti-trans views. (That’s not super liberal in my book.) The Department of Homeland Security, these days headed by Kristi Noem, is referring to Democrats, even those who make nice with the far-right, and to anyone further left too.

Trump has called up over 4,000 National Guard members and 700 Marines to stop protesters in Los Angeles. The protesters have been responding to government raids on immigrants, and the government is prepared to brutally shut them down. This is happening right now.
