Democratic voters aren't heavily motivated by keeping Democratic politicians out of jail at all costs. In assuming that we are, your father is projecting. Trump supporters are cult followers; they'll excuse any crime Trump commits. By contrast, Democratic voters are not in a cult, and I believe most of us would say that if someone (even the president) commits a serious crime, they should be held accountable.
Of the narrative that presidents will be automatically sent to jail unless they have immunity? No, they won't, and we know this because no sitting or former president has ever before been convicted of a crime. Trump was convicted of a crime in court, not because he's "persecuted" but (Occam's razor here) because he did the crime.
Trump is "so pious and has such pure ideals" yet repeatedly says he wants to be dictator as "a funny joke to upset the snowflake liberals"? That seems contradictory.
God has chosen Trump to save America? There's no way to argue with that. It's a belief system.
