When they can’t possibly be worse, they find a way
A month ago, Donald Trump said he plans (if elected president in 2024) to end federal programs that “promote” gender transition “at any age.” Sounds like the government would not recognize any trans person’s gender, including adults. What else would it mean?⬇️
He’s still on that horse, and so is the whole Republican party. The first weekend in March, at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), Trump warned that the country has plunged into a “filthy communist nightmare.” Trump bragged that he had been a strongman and complained that Biden has undone his work:
“We banned transgender insanity from our military and signed the world’s first ban on critical race theory long before anybody had even heard of the term. It was all banned, everything was good. When Biden came in…he put everything right back into place where it was.”
If we were to take Trump literally, we might ask: Why ban something no one had heard of? But by now, we all know he doesn’t intend to…
