He Always Prints His Name on the Matchbook: A Lesson From ‘Back to the Future Part II’
The sequel to “Back to the Future,” released in 1989, reveals a dystopia characterized by what is, essentially, a Trump presidency. The hero of this campy time travel film accidentally causes the disaster of the brutish buffoon’s ascendancy and has to undo it. I watched the movie again, thirty years after its release, to see if embedded somewhere therein is a campy time travel answer to our present difficulties.
