Atheists surely have beliefs about the existence and nonexistence of all sorts of things. They also have meta-beliefs: beliefs about their own beliefs (or their lack thereof). And, especially when they philosophize, they are certainly aware of their thoughts. Still, they don't believe in gods, which is what makes them atheists.
