95 Books I Plan to Read in 2025

Here’s my New Year’s reading resolution

As promised yesterday, I scanned the 3,000 titles on my “to be read” list and selected the ones I’ll prioritize in 2025. I ballparked a desire for “50” but wound up selecting 95.

I’m sharing the titles here in case some of them may appeal to you too.

Please note: These are not necessarily representative of what I typically do read. These are titles I noted over a seven-year period (2018–2024) and have not read but would like to read as soon as possible.

Sometimes I pick up a book as soon as I learn about it. I’ll undoubtedly learn of many new-to-me books in 2025, but subject to the nature of time, I can’t yet reflect them on this list.

Sometimes I pick up a book I already own. If I own a book, I tend not to redundantly catalog it on a Goodreads virtual shelf. That means my existing book hoard isn’t reflected below.

I increasingly read in Spanish, but I tend to find those books in print at bookstores, as I live in a Spanish-speaking country. Again, once I own a book, I have no need to catalog it. Thus this list contains only one book in Spanish.

I also read poetry, but usually in print, picking it up spontaneously when I’m in the mood. I haven’t been in the habit of…
